Meaningful prezzies!

Semester at Bible College is over! Exams are up in two weeks, but am not too stressed about that cos I am given the exam questions beforehand! Muahahahaa...

Actually, its making me even slacker (is there such a word?!). Just can't get the discipline to sit down and write out the answers to the questions.. haiyah!!!

Anyway, I found this really cool way of giving presents that are meaningful. You know how we often give people gifts that they don't really need and it just ends up as clutter in their house? Well, TEAR Australia came up with "Useful Gifts" - buying a "gift" that will go to helping the poor around the world.

What happens is that if say you buy a "goat" which costs $X -> this $X will go as a tax-deductible donation to one of their partner organisations in some poor country, which will use that $ to provide a goat for the family taking part in their projects etc. What the buyer will receive is a GIFT CARD with some information about the gift, which you can then send to the person you want to give the gift to.

How cool is that?!

Check it out at:

and make giving gifts a meaningful (& not wasteful) thing this Christmas!!

Matt 25:37-40:

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
